SAIL GP: WORLD FEED
Design, animation and build of all titles, stings, maps, explainer VTs, team launch videos and broadcast graphics for the new Sailing event, branded the ‘F1’ of sailing. Five events around the world in Season One: Sydney, San Francisco, New York, Cowes (U.K.) and Marseille.
Working closely with the SailGP branding team to come up with exciting ways to present information and display live race data to enhance the viewers’ experience. Aiming to keep the display of info clear and concise to encourage the casual viewer, whilst also retaining the interest of the expert sailing enthusiast.
Once designs were approved by SailGP we built everything into the live playout software ‘Ventuz’ and integrated all the live data coming from the boats to seamlessly match the data being shown by LiveLine (LiveLine do the augmented reality graphics that appear on the water).
Chapter 3 supplied all the kit and personnel for each event. The playout systems are streamlined so that we only needed three operators to broadcast the world feed in English, Mandarin and Japanese and also provide a separate graphics output for the enhanced English feed (presented by Ed Leigh). All this is done remotely from Timeline at Ealing Studios in the U.K.
