PARALYMPICS 2020
We are immensely proud of our work on the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics coverage for Channel 4, which won the “Best Sports Entertainment Programme: Quadrennial” at the Broadcast Sports Awards. We designed a wealth of graphic content across all the Channel 4 Paralympics coverage, including the opening sequence, stylised 3D location maps for various events created in Cinema 4D and Dem Earth, explainer VTs of the incredible athletes and their inspiring stories and sport guides to help viewers understand the complexities of the rules and regulations for each sport. In addition, we designed and built the entire On-Screen Presentation package for Channel 4 based around the fundamental shapes of the Paralympics logo.
As well as a comprehensive and stylish graphics package, we also serviced the live graphics operation for the coverage. We provided all kit and staff to support 21 hours of live coverage every day, including the live show Paralympics Today, a highlights show featuring the best moments and action from the day and Paralympics Gold Rush, a show highlighting the medals won by Team GB that day. Altogether, we provided live graphics for around 300 hours of coverage on Channel 4 and More 4 of the Tokyo Paralympics across 13 memorable days.
We were honoured to work with Whisper to tell the stories of the fantastic sporting drama and incredible outpouring of emotion that occurs during this amazing event.
