Producing the opening title sequence for this beautifully crafted documentary on Ben Stokes - arguably the best cricketer in the world, was possibly our most exciting project of 2022.  

 

The film sees Oscar winner Sam Mendes and England captain Ben Stokes come together for an Amazon Prime Video film about the cricketer's incredible highs, personal lows, and public controversies and how they impacted his mental health. 

 

The inspiration for the titles came from Ben's tattoos. Each one depicting a significant moment in both his personal life and/or his career. The sequence is a blend of beautifully shot imagery of some of Ben's tattoos, intertwined with stunning 3D models of the others. The Phoenix being the main focus. We used headlines from news articles to texture some of the models such as the cricket ball and the petals of the rose to portray the impact of the press on Ben's mental health.  

 

As part of this project, we also created all content for Amazon’s VOD platform, including posters, imagery and artwork.  

 

We are beyond excited to see the release of this incredible documentary on Amazon Prime Video. Not sure when, or even if we will stop buzzing from this one.
